Top Three Picks From The Chicago Baby Show And A Wrap-Up

September 1, 2017 by Ashley Leave a Comment

The Chicago Baby Show was a blast! I love going to these kinds of events because I get to meet brand reps in person and I get to put my hands on the products. There is something different about handling the products with someone who is an expert on the product. They know every detail about the product and know all of the tips and tricks that you wouldn’t learn if you were trying out the product in a mass retailer location.  I have put together my top three picks from the Chicago Baby Show this year!

We made the event a family project. Saturday myself, the babe, and hubby all went to the show. It was great to be able to bring my hubby to an event for once. Most of the time he is stuck at work. As many lovely people pointed out our little family really sticks out in a crowd. My colorful dreads and his electric green hair make it easy to spot us from far away. My hubby was even called out by a brand for really rocking his green Pockit. We didn’t know it, but the Lizard Khaki Green version is their worst seller. My hubby was ecstatic to be called out and have his pictures taken. He said he felt like a celebrity!

We had a blast looking at and talking with a wide variety of different brands on Saturday and had just as much fun on Sunday when it was myself, my babe, and my sister. I feel like there were so many amazing products that it is hard to decide which products I should talk about today.

My Top Three Picks From The Chicago Baby Show

Veer Cruiser

The Veer Cruiser is more than just a wagon; it is a wagon and a stroller combined. This might sound a little crazy, but it really isn’t. It’s been days since the show and I still can’t get over just how amazing this wagon really is. You can use this wagon for both infants and toddlers. The wagon has adapters that make it safe to put your infant car seat onto the wagon. It also has a bassinet feature if you are planning on only using it for an infant.

If you have a toddler that likes to escape this wagon is perfect because it has buckles to keep your little one in place and safe while you are strolling along. Of course it comes with cup holders for parents as well as an activity tray with two cup holders for the kids as well. If you have a pale child like me there is also a sunshade that you can attach to the wagon to help provide shade for your little one and help keep them safe from the hot sun.

In addition to all of these features I love that it comes with shocks to help ease bumps in the road and the fact that it is a USA made product here in Atlanta, GA.

Silver Cross Wave Stroller

My second favorite find was the Silver Cross Wave Stroller. I was amazed by the craftsmanship that goes into this amazing stroller. It is a single stroller that also makes for a great double stroller. When you purchase the Wave Stroller you will get the standard toddler seat as well as the bassinet seat attachments. On top of these they also throw in adapters to turn the single stroller into a double when you are ready to transform it. Both the bassinet and the seat come with foot muffs to help keep your kids warm in the cold winter weather.

I love there sleek design of the stroller as well as the high-quality material that is used to keep my kid safe in the stroller as well as comfortable. The sunshades that they use offer SPF 50 protection which is very important when you have a tiny little one in tow. They also include two rain covers that fit over both the bassinet and seat units.

One of the key features that I love with this stroller over others that offer a bassinet is the fact that this bassinet has a memory foam pad in it as well as a built in ventilation system that you can open up to help keep Baby cool on hot summer days. It also has feet on the bottom of the bassinet so that if your child falls asleep when you get inside you can safely take them off of the stroller and set it on the ground without worry. This means that I would have a portable infant sleeping area everywhere I go! To me this is an important feature because we all know how important it is to not let our children sleep in their infant car seats. The bassinet gives us another great option for on the go.

Galt Toys: Kinderfeets Balance Bike

My final favorite item from the Chicago Baby Show was the Kinderfeets Classic Balance Bike that Galt Toys had with them.  This is the cutest wooden balance bike I have ever seen.  I love the balance bikes that are like real bikes, but my son is short and he is fascinated by all of the big kids riding their bikes and he wants one.  This balance bike is the only balance bike that we have been able to put our son on and have him touch his feet to the floor!  The craftsmanship behind this bike is just amazing.

It is painted and sanded to perfection.  If you go into one of the three local Galt Toys locations they will assemble the balance bike in store for you when you purchase it.  That there is premium service!!  This bike is handmade and looks awesome with its chalkboard black background!  I love how the bike design just is in your face!  It leaves your kid with one really cool looking ride.

For being a handmade item you would expect a very high price range, but really with this being just over $100 a pop you can’t go wrong.  If you are wondering if your kid can grow with it they can.  The seat is adjustable and can be raided to higher positions as well.  This is really one small, powerful, little balance bike!

Special Thanks to the Chicago Baby Show, MomTrends, and Guidance Guide!

I want to shout a special thanks to the Chicago Baby Show for putting together such an amazing event that parents in the Chicago area were able to benefit from.  I know that next year will be even more spectacular and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us again next year!  As a blogger I wouldn’t have had quite as spectacular of an experience as I did without the hard work that MomTrends put into the event and the Blogger’s Lounge.  I am more than thankful for the great lunches on Saturday and Sunday as well as the fun play area for my son to get some extra energy out in as well as a great, safe place for my son to make some new little friends.

Finally I want to drop in an extra special thanks to the team over at Guidance Guide!  I was so excited to meet the team that I have been conversing with online for the past few months.  I love writing reviews for the Guidance Guide and it really was a pleasure getting my picture taken with Jamie.  If you aren’t a member of Guidance Guide be on the watch for the official launch later this year.  Follow me on social media platforms to stay in the loop!
