Gobble up Your Worries with My Amazing Monster

Staying healthy is something most people take for granted.  I grew up going in and out of doctor offices as a child and as an adult due to my handicap.  Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease being a disease that progresses over time; due to its progressive nature it is a cycle for me where I have to continuously go to the doctor and be monitored to see how the progression is going.  Because I have gone to so many doctors over the years I have many issues when it comes to going to any doctor as an adult.

I believe that if I had found a way to deal with my fears and nervousness going to the doctor as a child I believe I would be better off now.  All of these years I had never thought of a good way to deal with all of the anxieties that still tighten my chest when I know I have any sort of medical procedure approaching.  Then recently when I went to the Chicago Toy and Game Fair I came across this amazing woman with an amazing story.  Beth Cimler came up with My Amazing Monster which is a book series and a stuffed animal monster named, Gobble.

My Amazing Monster Gobble

Her products are just hitting the stores, but I am already sold on what they stand for.  Her idea is that Gobble the monster is a companion that will always be at your side and he will gobble up all of the bad things that he finds.  What Gobble does to help each person can be different.  But in the end he is there to help any child or adult in need.  In her personal story she talks about how she had bought her father a monster many years ago and she saw him help her father out during some of the hardest days of his life.  I can see why he was helpful; I find it helpful to have a companion with me any time I am dealing with something difficult and Gobble would make for a great companion.

You can now buy her book as a package deal with Gobble the monster.  She is working on additional books right now, but My Amazing Monster: Goes to the Hospital is the perfect companion book for any child who is ill or has to frequent the doctor for any reason.  He is a simple companion, but one that will really help a child out because sometimes they feel that they need to be strong for their family when they really have worries or concerns that aren’t being voiced. Gobble how to

Your child just has to follow a few little steps to be able to let their worries go.  Gobble eats your child’s worry’s and takes them away so that they can relax and not feel so stressed out.  Later once your child has fed Gobble their worries you can open up his back and fish out all of their worries so that you can know what things are going unsaid.  This can be a big deal when dealing with a child because they might not be telling you things about their health that doctors might need to know.

I now wish I had, had Gobble as a child because there were so many times when I was nervous or worried about a doctor visit, but didn’t want to show it.  He would have given me the opportunity to wash away my worries.  If my child ends up having to go to the doctor like I had to I want to tell him the story about Gobble and give him a Gobble monster so that he has something to hug and cuddle.
