I thought long and hard about what my favorite childhood memory could be and even dug through images that I have here on my computer that can help me show you all my memory and chose to talk about my summer vacations in the upper peninsula of Michigan at Crooked Lake. All of these pictures are amazing pictures taken by my father who really has an amazing eye for nature.
We would spend around a month total all summer up at Crooked Lake for as long as I can recall. If you go through pictures in my parents house I know you can find little four year old me in my little bathing suit and cute little life vest tramping around on the little beach, in the water, and on the dock. Everyone has memories from when they were little and all of my memories of Crooked Lake really blend together to make every memory even more magical.
I remember sitting in the boat fishing with my parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on so many different occasions just having tons of fun in the middle of no where. It was so peaceful and so tranquil. Then we would spot an Eagle and watch it fly around. I loved watching them swoop down into the water and catch a fish. It was always so amazing to see nature in its natural habitat. Seeing wildlife out in the open, not hiding behind some cage like you see at the zoo. To me this is amazing and somehow my dad always managed to get awesome pictures from crazy far away of these magnificent birds. It is little things like this that strike me as so important.
There is much too much to tell you about my time up in the upper peninsula to say it all here so watch for the continuation of what makes these memories so special to me.
What childhood memories do you have that strike a heartstring in you?
