If you are personal friend of mine then you will know that I finally bit the bullet and went to an MDA Clinic visit to get an updated idea on my over all health in regards to my disability, Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) disease. I was lucky enough to find an amazing doctor that not only wants to help me from having my disease progress faster than necessary, but she also wants to make sure that I live the best life I can live. One of the tasks she told me to undertake was to change my diet to a high protein diet.
Starting a High Protein Diet… While Taking it One Step at a Time.
I will admit that I was not excited about having to change my diet. Let me correct that I wasn’t ready to give up my beloved carbs. Carbs are my addiction. I crave them and devour them to no end, but understand that my body will get so much more energy from protein than it will from carbs. My real problem is that I am a pretty picky eater. I try very hard not to be a picky eater, but I can’t help it.
One of my favorite types of protein is chicken. I can eat chicken every day without getting tired of it. I can’t do that with beef or pork, but definitely chicken. So when ProSticks reached out to me I actually got excited. Before doing some research I had never heard of these snacks and that is probably because I don’t shop at a bug grocery store on a regular basis. Since getting my hands on ProSticks I have been converted and will be making a stop at a real grocery store on a regular basis.
Each serving consists of 23g of protein which is great. I usually snack on crackers or chips so being able to switch to a meat based snack it is the perfect addition to my new high protein diet. When I need to find a quick snack I am able to grab one and not have to worry about prepping anything while I chase my toddler around the house. I also love how they are the perfect snack for on the go.
When we do say trips to the zoo or where ever else I find for a new adventure I pack snacks for my son, but never would remember anything for me. I now have a snack that I enjoy and can bring with me for those moments when I need a nice little pick me up.
I still have a long way to go before I really get my new diet in place, but ProSticks is the perfect way for me to start this journey. If you are looking to add more protein in your diet like me then I recommend you check out ProSticks.
What would you recommend for someone who craves carbs to no end?

What A great tip – I will be getting some pro sticks at the store tonight. I’ve been on a high-protein diet for sometime now and it gets easier and easier. I often make meatballs and drumsticks and wings to have on hand for my snacking. These prospects will make it all that more convenient and healthy. One snack that I can suggest for those who crave carbs Is pork skins. They are crunchy and have no carbs and have a good amount of protein.
I haven’t ever had pork skins so I will have to try those one of these days.
Those look delicious! I’ve never seen them before. When we met at Bloggy Con I had no idea you were suffering from CMT. I googled it to find out more and discovered it’s not a tooth disease–silly me. You are so brave and I love that you are taking control of your diet to help delay the progression of the symptoms. I loved meeting you and am enjoying checking out your blog.
Most people think that it is a disease that affects my teeth. They named it after the scientists who founded it.
