While I have some qualms when it comes to kids using too much technology on a regular basis I do love some of the kids tech that is out there because it can be used educationally.  The Codeapillar made by Fisher-Price is a kids tech toy that is geared toward children between the ages of 3-6.  I got excited for it months ago when I saw an ad for it because it is geared toward children who are just beginning school and it has so many different things that it can teach your children.

This is a great toy for homeschoolers as well as any other child because it helps children to learn problem solving and critical thinking through the use of the caterpillars segments.  Each segment represents a direction and depending on the order of the segments the Codeapillar will move a different way.  If you make it a game you can help your child figure out a way to get the Codeapillar from the start to the finish line.

I love it for these reasons because it makes learning fun and sometimes that is needed.  Not everyone learns the best from a book or a piece of paper.  It is also a great way to interact with your child and play with them.  They might not even realize that you are teaching them something new.

Fisher-Price has some awesome Playtime activity suggestions for parents that really excited me and have got me thinking about even more ways to use this toy with my son when he gets older.  In the meantime, it makes a great toy for my nieces and nephews to play with and learn from.

What kinds of kids tech toys do your children play with?
