Help Me Save The Weekly TCB Writing Prompt

July 9, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

TCB writing prompt

I am a Trash Can Blogger. I love the TCB girls! Why? Because they are awesome of course! That is a logical reason isn’t it? Anyway, every week they have a writing prompt. Many of you have probably seen them. I have done a few of them. I think it is around five or so that I have done now. I love the writing prompt’s. They give me something to talk about. A hot topic and there is a linky! Oh, have I mentioned that I love linkies? (I really, really do an keep your eye out because I have a post all about linkies going live on here soon and I will be guest blogging over on TCB with one soon.)

Anyway, not many people have been linking their posts up.  I didn’t last week because of a fluke where they didn’t allow many characters on the linky.  That has been changed, but what we need now is for you to help out.  Come and start joining in.  This gives you the chance to write a fun post and you will also get a dofollow link on their blog that is a PR 2.  You can’t beat that extra link juice can you?

I hope you join me and all of these women in this awesome weekly writing prompt.  Leave some comments if you are going to join and what you might be interested in having as topics for the writing prompts.

June 5, 2013 by Ashley 6 Comments

This weeks Wordless Wednesday post is all about My Personal Style which is very eclectic. I always loved Gothic styled clothes and used to wear a lot of it, but I cannot fit in my old clothes so I don’t wear it anymore.  Once I lose so weight I will get back into it, but for now see what a lot of my clothes are like…

‘Sexy Merida’ is Pulled From Disney Princesses

May 16, 2013 by Ashley 2 Comments

Merida

There has been much talk about the new image of the ‘Sexy Merida’ that Disney had made for their Disney Princesses Website.  If you look at all of the Princesses they have all been beautified or given a ‘sexier’ look to them.  I am not sure if that is a good ideas or not, but it is what they have done for each of the Princesses.  However, this backlash has hit hard and Disney did pull the image of Merida replacing is with the original image of her from the movie.

Out of all of the Disney Princesses Merida is the one that doesn’t need that look the most.  She is an awesome Princess full spunk and attitude that makes her stand out from the rest and it is this that I think should be kept with her.  She needs to be as natural as possible.  She wouldn’t be the same if she was as girly as most of the other Princesses and I believe this is why it drew such a big up-rise from fans all over the internet.

Merida

Merida was the princess that countless girls and their parents were waiting for — a strong, confident, self-rescuing princess ready to set off on her next adventure with her bow at the ready. She was a princess who looked like a real girl, complete with the ‘imperfections’ that all people have. – Change.org Merida Petition

How do you feel about the two Merida images?

My Favorite Rainy Day Movie… #ChallengeToWrite

May 10, 2013 by Ashley 1 Comment

rainy day movie

My favorite rainy day movie has to be The Incredibles.  I just love this movie so much.  It might be Toy Story, but I am waiting for Disney to put it out on DVD again so that I can own it again and be able to watch that whenever I want.  Anyway, I saw The Incredibles (am watching it right now) on TV and it made me want to write about it on here.

I love super hero’s and everything like that.  This movie was just so amazing.  It looked great and covered a bunch of super hero’s as well as it had a great story line.  This is one Disney/Pixar movie is one that I always wanted a sequel too hasn’t gotten one.  I think that the baby would create an awesome story line and be a great character to make a movie around because his powers are so completely crazy.

My favorite character is Violet I love how her powers really compliment her personality and moody teenager attitude that is portrayed in the movie.  I think I liked her a lot when it first came out because there were many times as a teen when I would have loved to have some of her powers.

What is your rainy day movie!?

One Thing I Can’t Live Without… (I cheated…) #ChallengeToWrite

May 5, 2013 by Ashley 3 Comments

live without

I might have cheated on this prompt choosing my pets as the one thing I cannot live without in my home.  Lol.  Yes, I know I figured out a way to word it so that it almost sounds like I picked out one thing when I really picked out four!!! I am terrible and you and all poke fun and laugh at me know.  I’ll set it up for you… 1… 2… 3… GO! Ok, now that is out of your system… (and mine) we can continue onto why I chose my pets.

I could have picked my boyfriend, but that is sappy and I would have gotten an eye roll from him so I bypassed that (though you can know that was the first thing that popped into my head as my answer… shhh don’t tell him!).  I really do love my pets.  My two cats are awesome and full of insanely crazy kitty personalities that are more than entertaining.  And then there is Kratos.  What can I say about him?  He is an old man who thinks he is still a pup.  Of course I love him as well.  And finally the little puppy brat Abigail that is my adopted pup that lives with us because she is my boyfriends dads doggy.  She is a spaz and silly beyond belief and already showing all of the hound in her.

What is the one thing you couldn’t live without?
