Emotional Abuse: Silent Killer of Marriage Book Review

May 2, 2013 by Ashley 2 Comments

emotional banner

I have been mulling over how to tackle this review for awhile and amid the craziness of my life I finally have a moment to sit and think and here it goes.  This review is going to be a bit different from other book reviews because this book is not a fictional piece but a non-fiction piece about a man who was an emotional abuser and his path to changing his life.  I asked to review this book because I have known people who were abusers and people who were abused and I wanted to see into the mind of an abuser.  Continue reading for the review…

Emotional Abuse Silent Killer of MarriageReview

This book opens up with a completely honest man who is willing to speak his mind and share his story.  He speaks with a calmness that I don’t know that I would have if I were in his shoes.  He talks about his past being real honest with the reader admitting to things that I believe most people would deny if they had ever been in his shoes.

It is obvious that he writes this book as a self-help book, a book to help open your eyes to what you could be doing or what you might be living through.  He wants his words out there.  His experiences and what brought him to the realization that he needed to change and how that transformation came to be.  If you ever wanted to know what might be going through the abuser’s mind then you just might want to pick up this book because he does an amazing job at really putting you there; making you feel like you understand what he is talking about.

I believe that this read is beneficial to more than just someone who is an abuser or someone who is being abused.  I believe that this book really gives you a lot of insight into your own head and your own emotions.  It helps you to think through them and find any small or large issues that could be going on in your relationship.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Vampire’s Saving Embrace {Adult Book Review}

April 29, 2013 by Ashley 3 Comments

supernatural vampire adult book reviewI have been lucky enough to speak with Darlene Kuncytes in regards to her first published book for the past few weeks as it was getting printed for the first time ever.  She got me really pumped for this book by telling me all about the book and how involved she was with the characters that she created in this book and the little world inside the book.

I am a lover of fictional books and paranormal books even more which made this book be one that I was extremely excited for.  I do also have to admit that there is a side of me that just loves a good sexy romance novel.  I had warned her that it may take me awhile to read it due to the fact that I have been very busy and sometimes books can take me awhile to get through.  However, I had a day off of work and I finished reading this book in half of a day!

The characters in the just captivated me.  I fell in love with everything about them and got pulled into their world unable to break free and return to the reality of my life.  Every big moment in the book had my heart in my throat, my hands shaking nervous, scared, and excited for the characters.  It had been awhile since I found a romance novel that pulled me into it.

vampire book authorI honestly have to compare this book as being as compelling and driving me to read more and want more just like the Dark Hunter series did for a long time.  I can tell you that I am already excited and eagerly anticipating the second book with ideas of what is to come.  I love books for this reason because I feel connected to the characters and I love finding out if my stipulations and theories about what is to happen in the second book.  I hope to be able to share with you more information as the second book is in the works to let you all know when she will be getting close to the release of it!!

I give this book 5 Stars!  It is just completely amazing!  If you love romance novels, especially paranormal ones then this is a book for you.  You can find out all about the author at her Amazon Author Profile.  You can also purchase this book on Amazon (listed below) in both paperback and Kindle formats.  This is really a great book that I would spend money on if I had not been given the opportunity to review it.

Monsters University Concept Art

April 18, 2013 by Ashley 2 Comments

Monsters University

Ok, I am warning you here in this first sentence… this post about Monsters University is going to be jam packed full of pictures!  I love, love, love (yes I really needed three love’s) Monsters Inc.  I cannot tell you how many times I have seen the movie.  I think it is too many to count.  The movie is funny and cute and everyone falls in love with it!

So, I was crazy excited when I was given the media packet for this movie that is coming out June 21st, 2013.  This will be one of those movies I cannot miss.  It looks like everything is going to be amazing and that this movie is going to be just as awesomely funny and entertaining as Monsters Inc. was.  This movie is going to be quite a bit different because it will be set at a university instead of in a work place type of setting like Monsters Inc.

Monsters University

I just love this picture because you see both Sully and Mike standing in front of the archway to the university.  It shows off a good scene and gives you a chance to get a peek at what type of a setting the school is set in.

Monsters University

This is another great concept art piece. (Have I mentioned I love looking at concept art?  I am the person who always watches the being made and behind the scenes clips on DVDs when it comes to animated movies.) You get a great view of the common areas of the school along with the physical school off in the distance from what appears they are driving to since the image is set on the roadway.

Monsters UniversityI had to add in this concept art piece that includes some other interesting monsters.  One thing I loved about Monsters Inc. was all of the interesting, creative, and unique.

One Line of Advice For Future Generations

April 15, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

I like giving out advice when I can which is a good thing because I decided to try to start doing the Trash Can Prompts that come out on a regular basis for more ideas to write about and this week’s prompt is really easy which makes it even better.  Lol.  If you decide to do this weeks prompt go HERE to link up your post with everyone else’s and check out my one sentence below.

If you could only leave one line of advice for future generation, what would it be?

advice

Julius Caesar says it all for me, “Experience is the teacher of all things.”  That is my one simple thing that I would pass on.
