Day In The Life … Of Pash

June 12, 2014 by Ashley Leave a Comment

As per normal remember that you can join us still: BE Society’s June Challenge.  You can also read all of my posts from this challenge at my BE Society June Challenge tag.

June 12th – Describe a typical day in your current life.

life

A typical day in my current life is not all that exciting.  I wake up in the morning or afternoon.  It really depends on the day and how well I actually sleep at night.  Nonetheless I get up and feed Miss Luna and find something little to eat to jump start my metabolism.  Once that is completed the day is my oyster.

From there I chose whether I am going to clean, work on my blogs, tackle the craziness that is my email or just relax.  This is how my entire day goes.  Like I said it is not very exciting.  I usually play with Luna some as well as fit in eating Lunch and Dinner somewhere in there.

Pet Peeves? What Are Those!?

June 11, 2014 by Ashley Leave a Comment

I am writing this a bit early as I am going to be driving and going to the dentist today. I am so not excited for it.  Anyways, as per usual you can join in on the BE Society’s June Challenge and follow my posts this month at my BE Society June Challenge tag.

June 11th – Describe 10 pet peeves you have.

pet peeve

1.  Straight Lines. I hate when things are laid out on tables and displays and are not straight.  It drives me crazy and I have a huge tendency to move them so that they are straight.  If it is something that I cannot move I will focus on it and stare at it until something  or someone pulls me out of the focus.

2.  Place Settings.  I am very anal about my place settings when the table is actually set.  I have specific places for my cup, silverware, and napkin.  If there is a place-mat that as well needs to be in just the right place.  My ex-boyfriend used to purposely move my things just so that I would twitch and have to fix it.

3.  Organization.  This will sound weird if you see the way that I live, but I have a very specific way that I organize things.  This is especially important to me with my digital content.  I over organize things and create millions of folders within folders.  It used to drive my ex-boyfriend crazy; he hated how I organized files on the computer.

4.  Color Coding.  When I put my clothes away I put them away by clothing type and color.  For me it has to be this way.  I hate not having enough drawers and shelves for me to keep all of my colors separate, but I do my best.

5.  TBD.  I am at a loss on what else I would classified as other pet peeves.  Going into this I figured I would be able to easily come up with 10, but I now have stumped myself.

Embarrassing Moments Help Personal Growth

June 10, 2014 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Come join us in this BE Society’s June Challenge as well as follow me through my June Challenge tag this entire month!

June 10th – Describe your most embarrassing moment.

embarrassing

My most embarrassing moment.  This one takes a bit of thought for me as I am not someone who puts attention on themselves in public.  No, I am that person who normally hangs back and stays somewhat hidden unless a hot topic is brought up and I feel the need to speak up and make myself and my opinion known.  While writing all of this out many memories pop into my head.

These memories come from all different times in my life and a majority of them have to do with some crazy fall or accident that has happened to me.  I believe those things were all very embarrassing for me at that very moment in time because I hate showing my weaknesses, but now that I look back on them they really weren’t very embarrassing.

I believe that the most embarrassing thing that I can remember from childhood was me falling down the steps on the school bus.  I cannot remember if it was before or after school, but I hurt myself so badly that both knees were torn up and I still have the scars to prove it.  My dad had to come pick me up from the school.  I wasn’t really embarrassed that he picked me up, but was embarrassed that I couldn’t manage the couple of stairs on the bus without tumbling off of them.

Inspiration From the Recesses of my Mind

June 9, 2014 by Ashley Leave a Comment

The month continues and actually feels like it is going relatively smoothly thus far.  This is to good vibes that the month will continue in such a fashion.  As per always feel free to link up to the BE Society’s June Challenge (you can also find some other great bloggers to follow there) as well as remember that you can follow my month long journey through my BE Society June Challenge tag.

June 9th – List 10 people who have inspired you and describe how.

inspiration

Le sigh. This task has been a tough one for me.  We shall see if I actually come up with 10 people to put on my list, but I am pretty sure that I will end up coming up short.

1.  My Papa Joe.  I say he is number one because he has shown me so much strength.  He grew up during the depression, battled out a terrible disease, lived in a quarantine facility for a long while.  He then moved on to graduate college and work for Argonne National Laboratories for years.  Even when his eye sight was taken from him he did not let that stop him.  To this day he still reads and learns new things on a daily basis and that all has inspired me to keep striving for more.

2.  My Uncle Ken.  Even though I did not get to see my uncle often growing up and he was taken from my family when I was relatively young my memories and stories I have heard have made me want to be like him.  He was a man of the mind.  He was quirky and he was his own person.  He has inspired me to be myself and not to simply conform to what everyone says I should be.

3.  Annie & Stevie Hopkins.  I have known them for so many years, if I think all the way back I met them when I was 11 years old.  The two of them always showed me an inner strength I never thought I could have.  The siblings have started a huge company that has become an international phenomenon, 3E Love.  Through that they have inspired me to keep dreaming and someday I know I will be successful like their enterprise has become.

4.  My friend Kitty.  She has inspired me recently to move forward.  She is one of the amazing people who have helped me to move away from the darkness that had been consuming my life for many years and I could never have done it without her inspiration.

5. My teacher Ms. Lamore.  She was my inspiration in high school.  I still think of her to this day because she made it possible for me to be inspired to step forward and be myself and to help me help others.  Without her I would not have been the advocate for diversity and equality that I have become over the years.

It appears to me that I was unable to come up with 10 people.  I can think of a few other friends with whom have been great inspirations to me and those individuals all know who they are.  They are my rocks, my foundation, and that by which I live by.

Pashs Passionate Passions

June 8, 2014 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Here comes the next post in the BE Society’s June Challenge.  As always remember you can still sign-up and join us in this fun blogging challenge for June as well as check out my BE Society June Challenge tag to read all of my posts.

June 8th – What are five passions you have?

Passion

1.  Blogging.  I love to write and blogging gives me a creative outlet to write and share my mind and world with everyone else out there.  It has also given me the chance to meet some amazing people and companies.

2.  Music.  I love music in all forms.  I classify it as a passion because I love to sing as well as to feel the emotions that other musicians feel through their forms of music.  It is why I love so many different genres of music.

3.  Photography.  I have always loved taking photography; now I might not be the best photographer out there, but I do love taking pictures.  That there is why I believe that photography is one of my top five passions.

4.  Cooking.  I love experimenting in the kitchen.  I am new at it, but find it relaxing and thrilling at the same time.  I would include baking in this category as well.

5.  Animals.  I love animals, all kinds of animals.  I would have a houseful of animals if I could get away with it.
