Inhale. Take a deep breath. Slowly let it out because cutting the cable bill doesn’t have to be as scary as some people think it is. In our home we have been cable free for 4 years now and are still going strong. There are times that I have questioned my decision, but ultimately I love that we cut the cable bill years ago!
See it. Stream it.
It can be as easy as this. You can see it by streaming it onto your TV. There are many different ways to stream TV, but my current favorite way is through the use of a Chromecast. You may think this is odd and that I would prefer a Smart TV, but I find that the Chromecast stays more up to date with technology and updates than many Smart TV’s. With the Chromecast you also have more app options that you would have on many other devices out there.
Why Chromecast?
Everything in one place.
Thanks to the Chromecast you can watch everything in one place. This means you can watch movies, shows, Live TV, YouTube, and photo streaming from your phone to your TV. You can do all of this with the many apps that are available on the device. We personally use Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube on a regular basis in our home. We do not currently subscribe to any services with Live TV, but I have heard great things about Sling TV and we are currently considering adding this to our collection.
Stream from your phone to TV.
No need for an extra remote lying around the house when you can just stream TV through your phone. You can easily change shows and content with just a click of a button from your phone.
Start streaming with just your voice.
The newest and coolest feature (in my mind) is the fact that you can now stream with just your voice. All you need is a Chromecast, Google Home and compatible apps to begin hands-free control of your TV. For example you could say, “Ok Google, play Stranger Things from Netflix on my living room TV.”, and it would perform the aforementioned request.
Cut the cable bill.
Now go and cut that cable bill by buying a Chromecast from Best Buy today. You might as well cut that cable bill now so that you have a little extra spending money for the upcoming holidays!
