#CampWarnerBros – Week 5 – DIY Teen Titans Character Banks

July 22, 2020 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post for Camp Warner Bros featuring Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans and a fun DIY Bank activity.

This week is another fun one for us. We love Teen Titans and I love sharing my love for it with my son. He helped me make popcorn to watch the movie together because he was so excited when I told him that we were going to watch Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans.

The movie was a huge hit and I just couldn’t hold back the smiles and my laughter because my little guy is at that age where he gets really into the movies and he will jump up and act out the scenes. It was just so cute watching him try to jump and kick like some of the characters.

Teen Titans DIY Character Banks

I don’t know if your children are like my son, but he just loves collecting coins. He currently has one full bank and has confiscated my Wonder Woman bank as his own. (Yes I know we should cash in all the coins, but he really doesn’t want me to empty the banks.) Since he loves banks I knew he would be excited to make one of his own.

I am posting the directions below You can click the link here to get the full Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans Character Banks PDF file.

We used cheap spray paint from Menards (getting an 11% rebate for the purchase) and chose to use Modge Podge in the spray can instead of the paste version. I found the spray adhesive to be much easier to apply to the jar. I also had my husband cut the hole in the lid because I was worried I would cut myself while doing it.

#CampWarnerBros – Week 4 – DIY Scooby Snacks

July 15, 2020 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post for Camp Warner Bros featuring Scooby-Doo!: WrestleMania Mystery! and a fun DIY Scooby Snack recipe.

I can already tell you that this week of Camp Warner Bros is going to be my son Raiden’s favorite week of camp. That is because he is a huge Scooby Doo fanatic. He loves Scooby Doo so much that for his 3rd birthday we had a Scooby Doo themed party. The idea of watching a new Scooby Doo movie and getting to make a DIY Scooby Snack just means it will be all he talks about for awhile- and I’m okay with that!

Raiden saw the new Scooby-Doo!: WrestleMania Mystery! movie downloaded to our movie platform before I could even surprise him with it which means we watched the movie before making snacks. This isn’t a problem because I expect him to ask me to watch it at least half a dozen times throughout the week.

DIY Scooby Snacks

Let’s make Scooby Snacks! Thanks to Camp Warner Bros you can follow the instructions below to make your own Scooby Snacks at home. We decided to get creative like suggested and we added sprinkles to our Scooby Snacks. This was a huge win in our home because my little buddy, Raiden, loves sprinkles. He loved getting to add the sprinkles to the mix.

He always has avoided helping make anything like this because it is messy to make, but I convinced him to help me even if we had to remove his shirt and keep explaining to him that it is okay to get a little dirty, especially when the results are a sweet treat!

It’s Party Time!

Now that you have made your DIY Scooby Snacks it is time to get ready for the movie! If you have a little one who just can’t sit still through an entire movie then I have the perfect something for you. In addition to the Scooby Snacks I also have two fun coloring pages for your kids. Just print these pictures out and you are ready for a fun filled night of Scooby Doo time!

Keep following on here as well as on social media for even more fun activities with Camp Warner Bros because we are only half way through Camp!

#CampWarnerBros – Week 3: Gummy Bear Slime DIY

July 8, 2020 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post for Camp Warner Bros featuring We Bare Bears and a Gummy Bear Slime activity.

This week we have a fun new adventure here at home! We are joining in on some more Camp Warner Bros fun with the new movie We Bare Bears: The Movie and a fun DIY Slime activity.

As a mom with a child who has sensory processing issues I knew the activity this week would be a tough one to complete, while also being a great way to introduce a new texture into his play without it being a huge fight. Due to his issues with textures I opted for the movie after making and playing with his new slime.

DIY Gummy Bear Slime

This slime can be made with only 3 ingredients and most of not all can be found in your kitchen.

For us this recipe was a little bit of trial and error. We made it with 1 cup of gummy bears and approximately 3 Tbs of cornstarch and powdered sugar (3 Tbs of each), but you might find you need more or less depending on the consistency you want for the slime.

I didn’t think to do this until later, but it would be lots of fun to make 3 different colors of slime so that they can each represent 1 of the bears! This is easy to do if you have mixed colored gummy bears or if you went to your local candy shop to get a single color.

Since we have a huge local candy shop minutes away from our house we went on an adventure and I let our son pick out the flavors/colors for the slime. He chose light blue/watermelon and purple/grape. (I will admit that I taste tested these and the watermelon gummy bears are delicious! If you want to try them you can check out Albanese.)

The Results

Our first batch of slime didn’t turn out and I believe that’s because we used too much of the dry mixture (we followed the above recipe) and the slime became tough very fast and is a similar texture to Starburst candies. My son watched me make the slime, but was very grossed out by the texture and consistency of the slime.

I however was able to get him to poke at it and stretch it out with his finger tips. We did have to clean his hands right away, but I was very proud of my little sensory boy!

This activity ended up being a lot of fun and when we watched We Bare Bears: the movie for the second time we all snacked on our Gummy Bear Slime that tasted a lot like yummy Starbursts. Will you be making slime with your kids?

Keep following for next week’s adventure with Camp Warner Bros!

#CampWarnerBros – Week 2: DIY Crystal Gem

July 2, 2020 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post for Camp Warner Bros featuring the week 2 Crystal Gem activity and Steven Universe: The Movie.

This week at Camp Warner Bros we got our hands on a new movie called Steven Universe: The Movie! This week I decided we would do things a little different. Instead of doing our activity before watching the movie we watched it first!

By watching the movie first we were able to talk about the activity of the week! This week’s activity happened to consist of masking our own homemade Crystal Gem Candy. Since my son hasn’t heard of the characters before I thought it would be good for him to get to know them in the movie and then he would be able to decide which color crystal gems he would like to make with his Crystal Gem Candy activity.

Above you can see the instructions on how to make your own Steven’s Universe “Crystal Gem” Candy. We followed the rules and I seeded all three of our strings to try to help speed up the process. However we still don’t have a finished product so I am moving our jars to the counter in hopes of helping speed up the process.

Raiden decided that he wanted to make Blue, Red, and Green Crystals because those were some of his favorite characters in the movie. (Yes I know there are only 4 Crystal options but who can tell their 4 year old no when he wants to make 3 of the 4 crystals?)

Keep watching my social media channels to look for updates on our Crystal Candy experiment!

#CampWarnerBros – Week 1 – Super Hero Week

June 28, 2020 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post for Camp Warner Bros featuring a super hero themed week.
I’m so thankful that Camp Warner Bros has chosen to do a Super Hero themed week at camp this week because my 4 year old recently started getting into super heroes and actually knows a few different super heroes. This weeks movie is LEGO® DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters!
  • Super hero
  • We haven’t watched many super hero movies with our son, but this movie was a great introduction to the world of super heroes! He was able to learn about some major super heroes and start picking out a favorite or two from the movie. This of course meant that mom just had to buy him some super hero action figures!

He just loved playing with his new a Batman, Flash, and Shazam action figures while mom was prepping everything for our fun adventures outside for the day. He even asked to watch the movie again for a second time that night. We of course popped some popcorn and had a blast cuddling on the couch!

Check out the super hero training video that Warner Bros released!
