My Thirty-One Why

August 10, 2018 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Recently I made the jump into the world of being a consultant once again. Some of you may remember years ago I sold Scentsy as well as Avon, but that isn’t why I am here. Today I am here to tell you a little bit about Thirty-One and why I chose to become a Thirty-One Independent Consultant.

My WHY

Everyone has a why when they join up to be an independent consultant for a company and I want to tell you what my why is. I believe that understanding why someone sells something helps the consumer to understand why they need it in their lives.

  1. I love the products. I only started using Thirty-One products a few months ago, but I have already fallen in love with a wide variety of their products. I will admit that I was a “bag lady” before I ever became a Thirty-One independent consultant. This was in place before I ever used Thirty-One. I love bags and I love to organize things around the house. These products are durable and will last much longer than other bags you may consider to use.
  2. I want to own all the bags! This party of my why is a bit selfish, but I really want to own all of the bags. I don’t think I’ll ever have enough bags to fulfill my life. I need bags and totes to store every little item in my home so I don’t go crazy from disarray. I also need them for travel, grocery shopping, and so much more. By becoming a Thirty-One independent consultant I will be able to feed this desire to own all of the bags.
  3. Supplement my hubby’s income. My final reason is to supplement my hubby’s income. As a stay-at-home mom I often feel like I need to find a way to contribute to the family income. I am not dreaming of making thousands of dollars a month, but instead would like to just make enough to do something special as a family every month.
  4. Socialize with other adults. This also stems from being a stay-at-home mom. There are days when it feels like I only have a 2 year old to speak with. I look forward to hosting parties where I get to spend time with other adults and show them my passion for these bags. I want to have fun and share that joy with everyone else.

Thirty-One Launch Party

Everyone talks about throwing a launch party for their new independent consultant business. I have thought long and hard about this and instead of a traditional launch party where I am trying to get new supplies and a nice commission, I want to make my launch party a fundraiser. Every September I participate in a Walk 4 CMT and this year I want to bring more to the table.  My launch party is going to be my way of bringing a larger donation to the walk this year.

I will be hosting a virtual Thirty-One party where my commission (25%) will be donated to the Walk 4 CMT here in the Chicago suburbs. I am asking each and every one of you to consider supporting me in this cause. It hits home because not only do I suffer from CMT, but so do so many family members. All I am asking you to do is to consider purchasing a bag to help support me. You will get a great product while I will be putting more money toward a great cause.

You can find out more and join in on the fun and games online in my VIP Facebook group “Ashley’s Bag Boutique” in this group you will find games, interactive posts, and all things Thirty-One. I try to make things fun, but need people like you there to help make them fun! You can also find more information on the Facebook Event Page!

What’s in my Summer Diaper Bag?

June 21, 2017 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post about summer diaper bag essentials thanks to Beech-Nut.

Packing up the diaper bag for my son feels like a chore sometimes because it seems like the contents are ever changing.  I have finally put together my go to Summer Diaper Bag Essentials and want to share with you just what those essential items are!

Summer diaper bag Summer Diaper Bag Essentials

Diapers:

I always pack 5-10 diapers because let’s be real, I am an overpacker.

Wipes:

I currently use the Huggies Clutch for wipes on the go, but I have heard great things about Buti-pod as well.  Both are great items to have so that you don’t have to pay for the over-priced small packages of wipes and can easily purchase the refill packages.

Sunscreen:

I have two brands of sunscreen that I shift between Blue Lizard and Babyganics.

Summer diaper bagBeech-Nut Snacks:

I always carry a wide variety of snacks in our bag because I have child who doesn’t just get hungry, he gets hangry!  That is why you can find such a great variety of snacks hidden within our diaper bag.

  • Beech-Nut Puffs. My son might be 15 months old, but boy does he still love his Puffs.  He just can’t seem to get enough of them.  It does help that they come in his favorite flavor, blueberry.
  • Beech-Nut Food Pouches. What toddler doesn’t like pouches?  They can eat their fruits and veggies in a pouch that helps them stay independent while limiting messes as well. (I know messes still happen, but if you get The Flipper I swear messes will be even less.)
  • Beech-Nut Snack Bars.  They offer a variety of different snack bar options.  I love that they have different types because it makes it possible for me to change it up with my son so that he doesn’t get bored with his snacks.
  • Beech-Nut Oatmeal. I love having oatmeal on the go because sometimes our days start really early and little Raiden isn’t ready for breakfast yet.  I love that they have pouches as well as a container of oatmeal I can slip into the diaper bag.
Sippy Cup and Snack Dispenser:

Our current favorite sippy cups are the Nuby Straws.  My son just loves drinking from straws and I love that they are spill proof.  We haven’t had any issues with him chewing through the straws yet, thankfully.  I always have our stackable snack dispenser with us as well so that I can fit a variety of different snacks to get him through the day.

Accessories:

I always makes sure I have a little extra in my bag in case of emergencies.  This always includes a cute sunhat for my son, and extra outfit, and a couple bibs in case he comes into contact with messy food!

What do you keep in your summer diaper bag?

DadGear – Diaper Bags for Dads

November 21, 2015 by Ashley Leave a Comment

I received this product free in return for my honest opinion from DadGear.

More often than not people only think about baby products for the baby and for the mom; the dad is often forgotten in the mix.  It is important that we do not forget to include dad in the mix.  His role is just as important as the moms role and he deserves to know that his role is important.  Some dads aren’t crazy active in their child’s life, but that is not going to be the case with my boyfriend.  He plans to play a very active role in his son’s life just like his father played an important role in his life.

DadGear – Diaper Bags for dads

It is because of all of this that I eagerly said yes to an opportunity to review DadGear – Diaper Bags for dads.  To me these are the coolest thing ever!  Men don’t want to carry around a big diaper bag like women carry.  Those bags are just too girly and not masculine enough.  A diaper bag that is a backpack or a messenger bag is the best invention ever made for men.  Instead of picking out a DadGear diaper bag myself I let my man pick out which one was the right one for him.  I was guessing that he would want a messenger bag due to his desire to carry our child on his back, but I was wrong.  It was a good thing I did not make the decision for him.

DadGear Classic Rock

After careful consideration he chose the Backpack Diaper Bag Graphic Classic Rock; to say that I was not really surprised is an understatement.  One of his loves is music.  He writes and records his own music and I know that he plans on sharing his love for music with our little boy.  What a great way to get that started.  I will be honest we had not looked into the specifics of the bag before we got it so we were like children on Christmas morning.  Our eyes were huge and we ooohed and ahhed over every little detail in this bag.  Just by looking at the front of this bag you would never suspect all of the features that come packed in this bag.

DadGear baby wipes window

The first feature that we came across was the baby wipes window in the front of the bag.  It has a simple velcro closure that we love.  DadGear states that most major brands travel wipe packages will fit in this window.  We find this to be great news because you always want ease of access to the most necessary items while on the road.  My second favorite feature is their diaper hammock that they have at the top of the backpack.  If I really pack the diapers in I could fit a good dozen diapers into the hammock.  I like the hammock for the same reasons that I love the baby wipes window because those are the two items that will get the most use in the diaper bag while on the go.  Having the diaper hammock right on top means that the diapers will never get buried in the bag and we will never need to dig and hunt for them.

Be the coolest dad on the block!

The bag comes with its own changing pad so that there is no need to hunt down one and hope that it will fit well in the diaper bag that you use.  This one is made to fit in the bag and is big enough when laid out to fit a large baby and even a toddler on it without problem.  In addition to that on both sides of the bag you can find stroller straps that attach the backpack to the handle of the stroller or if you are feeling adventurous they can also be attached to the handle of a cart at the store.

DadGear changing pad combo

This diaper bag is a huge hit.  I can’t praise it enough.  It looks like it is built sturdy enough that it will stand up the test of time with this little one.  I know my man cannot wait to use this bag when our precious little boy arrives.  Until then it will await his arrival slowly getting stocked full of goodies for our bundle of joy.  It might even end up being the bag that we pack little man’s hospital necessities in for his arrival in the new year.

DadGear was also awesome enough to provide us with a coupon code for you all!  This means that you can save big money on a DadGear diaper bag for the man in your life just in time for the holidays!

Save 15% with the code pash15 at checkout on DadGear.com!!
