Descendants 2 on DVD Today!

August 15, 2017 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post; I received a copy of Descendants 2 as compensation for this article.  There may also be affiliate links within this post.  Any money made through these links help to keep this site running.

I don’t know about you, but in our home we love pretty much everything that is Disney.  I swear we cannot get enough of their movies.  So, when I heard that Descendants 2 was releasing today I just had to share the amazing news with you!  If you saw and enjoyed the first Descendants movie then the second is a must buy.  I am one of those people who just cannot live without a complete set of movies.  If there is a sequel I always buy it even if I haven’t seen it yet. (Yes, I know that is a little crazy. Haha.)

I have to admit that I love the first movie and now the second one!  I love them because I love a good villain and boy are the characters in these movies awesome villains. I honestly don’t want to say too much about the movie, but here is a little synopsis of the film:

Descendants 2 Synopsis:

The story deepens in the music-driven sequel to the global smash hit “Descendants,” as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay (also known as Villain Kids or VKs) — try to find their place in idyllic Auradon.

When the pressure to be royally perfect becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town.  Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.

I will admit that when I watched this movie I had never seen the first one and I now am looking to purchase the first movie so that I have the complete collection.  I was a little unsure of whether or not I would enjoy this movie because I am not usually a fan of cheesy kids musicals, but this one was a winner.  I loved all of the bright colors and catchy songs that made up this movie.  My toddler can be pick about what he enjoys watching and this movie was a hit.

Often he will sit and watch a movie he enjoys and will just dance in his seat, but this movie got him up and dancing around the living room.  This is definitely another movie that we are adding to our collection of fun Disney films.  If you are looking to purchase the movie check it out on Amazon.  I hope you find this movie as entertaining as I did!

The Legacy Collection – The Little Mermaid – a Review

January 9, 2015 by Ashley 6 Comments

I received the Little Mermaid Legacy Collection CD as a member of the Entertainment New Media Network.  No further compensation was received and all opinions are my own.  This post may also contain affiliate links.

I have always, always loved Disney movies, books, and especially their soundtracks.  How can you not?  They are freaking amazing.  Every song has the potential to get stuck in your head.   To say that I was excited to review The Legacy Collection: The Little Mermaid would be an understatement.  I cannot express just how excited I was to receive this collection in the mail.

mermaid legacy cover

Many companies seem to be skimping on packaging of video games, movies, and music albums, but Disney isn’t one of these companies. I love how this collection came packaged.  This two-disc collection comes in a case that looks like a little hardcover art book.  The little book contains excerpts written by various people who worked on the production of The Little Mermaid that are all very interesting.  It also contains the lyrics to all of the songs that you find on the CD.

I love the booklet just as much as I love the CD’s that it came with.  I love the great sound quality of the songs in this collection and I have loved being able to reminisce and picture the movie in my head while listening to the songs play out (and yes I will admit that I sing along to them loudly).

You can find this collection as well as all of their Legacy Collection albums for purchase at the Disney Music Emporium.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 Discussion and Trailer

April 18, 2014 by Ashley 10 Comments

The Amazing Spiderman 2: His Greatest Battle Begins is coming to theaters soon and I for one cannot wait to see it in theaters for a variety of reasons.  The first and foremost being that I am a huge comic and Marvel fan.  I have also seen the previous Spiderman movie and do not want to miss this one.  You always see me make it to the theater for a good Marvel movie, but talking about that isn’t why I am writing this post today.

I am here to tell you what I thought of this awesome His Greatest Battle Begins Discussion Guide The Amazing Spiderman 2.

This is a great little guide about Spiderman and how his story relates to people and shows just how you can apply the movie to being something more than just a movie.

spiderman 2About Spiderman

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2™, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
This little guide may only be five pages long, but it covers a wide variety of ideals and is chalked full of discuss ideas to have with your family.  I believe that this guide is something great to look over and spend time on before the movie comes to theaters.  In it you will discuss The Nature of Power, the idea that Time is Luck and Life is Precious, the concept of Choices or Destiny, and the ideal of Sacrifice.
I believe that this is a great piece to go over with your family before seeing the movie so that you all already are thinking about the different ideals and concepts that are throughout the movie when you do get to see it.  This Discussion Guide is one that is meant to be a religious discussion and does include Bible verses in it; however I feel that if you are not religious or are not Christian you would be able to easily pass by the verses and read the rest for what it is.
