My First Cricut Explore Air 2 Tester Project

July 10, 2018 by Ashley 2 Comments

As you may remember I purchased a Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine as a late Christmas gift to myself and recently posed the question about whether or not this would be my new hobby/obsession. If you’d like to read about setting up my crafting space you can check that out here.

I have been so excited to start using my Cricut Explore Air 2 that I’ve been planning projects, but didn’t want to attempt one that might not turn out because I don’t know what I am doing. That is why I decided to start with the Starter Project that’s included with the Cricut Explore Air 2.  When you purchase your Cricut you will get a free 2 week trial of Access, but it is smart to look into you options and purchase Access from the start.  With a Cricut Access Membership Plan you gain access to tons of fonts and projects in Design Space with no additional fees.

The Starter Project was very simple which I was very thankful for. It came with cardstock already cut to size for the card that I was to be making. I applied the cardstock to the green mat and inserted the black pen that came with my Cricut.

*I would recommend making your new mat a little less sticky by patting your hands on the mat to remove some stickiness otherwise you may find it difficult to remove the cardstock when you complete your cut.

Halfway through the cut you will need to change out the pen for the scoring tool so that the machine will make your card fold line. This is a simple task because the machine will leave the tool adapter in the middle of the machine for easy access.

Once it’s done cutting you will remove the cardstock from the mat and fold it in half. From the inside you will then slide in the colored paper as the background to the cuts that were made.

As you can see it was a very simple and quick project!

My Love Hallmark Baby Goodies and a Special Surprise!

November 29, 2015 by Ashley 6 Comments

Love, Hallmark is one of my favorite companies because they offer such a wide variety of products.  Many people only think about Hallmark as a greeting card company, but they offer so much more than just their amazing greeting cards.  Hallmark was sweet enough to send me this awesome box packed with four adorable items from their Hallmark Baby line of products seeing as I have my little boy on the way!  I squealed over the contents of the box when I got it into my house because everything is just too cute.

Hallmark Baby Goodies Review

I have been sitting digging through Baby Memory books for quite some time now having felt overwhelmed by all of the books on the market.  So many of them just didn’t feel right to me.  I do love the Baby Memory book that Hallmark sent me for a couple of reasons.

The first reason being because the book is just too cute.  I love the two bears hugging on the cover of the book as well as the title.  Isn’t the title “All the Ways I’m Loved” just too cute?  It is the perfect title for a book that I will one day give my child.  It will show him just how much we love him through our memories and memento’s.  The second reason why I am so in love with this memory book is the fact that it spans five years.  I am able to document his first five years all in one book.  (I know I will have other memento’s that will go in his treasure chest as well.)  Finally, I love this memory book because it comes with optional pages made specifically for adoption and non-traditional parental relationships.  To me this is a huge deal seeing as I gave my first child up for adoption.

Love Hallmark Baby Goodies Memory Book

The adorable memory book has a matching Wood Framed picture frame that is sold separately.  I love this picture frame as much as I love the little memory book.  In case you cannot read it on the picture above on the mat: it says: And when it seems impossible to love you more…I do.  To me this is just the sweetest sentiment that I can find.  I plan on getting a cute little shot of myself, Ben, and our little boy to put in the frame and I never plan on changing the image in it.  I want it to be a memento for our little boy to cherish when he is older.

Love Hallmark Baby Goodies Frame

In addition to the memory book and the wood framed picture that you can buy you can also purchase this matching rattle.  I just love this All the Ways I Love You Rattle; he is just the cutest little bear rattle I have seen.  The rattle itself is not very loud though it is loud enough to get baby’s attention (or my cat’s attention I have found out) and is plush so it is soft against baby’s skin.  I love that it is plush for a real young baby because I would worry about my baby boy hurting himself with a hard plastic rattle.  If you like all of these items in the matching series you can also check out the rest of them on Hallmark’s website.  I pulled up the entire set of All the Ways I Love You products for you to look at seeing as I only received these three items.

The final item in my little package was this wood art block that can be hung on the wall or set on a shelf.  I love that it says Bless this baby. Bless this day. It is such a sweet little sentiment.  It does not exactly fit the theme of our nursery (seeing as our nursery is going to be pirate themed), but I know we can find the perfect home for it.

You can find all of these items on Hallmark’s website and even more goodies at Hallmark Baby, which is a separate website, if you have a baby shower coming up in your future or just because you want to buy a little something special for a little one in your life.

A Surprise from Love, Hallmark Baby

Love, Hallmark Baby was kind enough to also offer a giveaway to all of you.  This means that one lucky individual will be winning a prize pack of everything you see above.  This is a really unique little prize pack.  One that an expectant mom, or new mom will love to receive. So, get your thinking caps on and figure out who you know that would love to win this pack (and yes it is okay if that person is yourself!).
