Commemorating My Breastfeeding Journey With Precious Mammaries

February 5, 2019 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post about my breastfeeding journey thanks to Precious Mammaries.

Nursing our children is something that many women do without a thought. It is not always an easy journey and sometimes the journey can be a stressful one. Because of all of this I really wanted to commemorate my breastfeeding journey with my son.

I nursed my son for almost 2.5 years; it was a long 2.5 years and there were many times I considered stopping sooner because I was stressed, touched out, or just wanted to feel like I was more than just a good source to my son. However, looking back I am so thankful to have waited until he was ready and allowed him to wean himself from being nursed instead of forcing him to stop when he wasn’t ready.

Turning My Breastmilk To Stone

Deciding how to commemorate my nursing journey wasn’t very easy. I knew I wanted to do something, but I just wasn’t sure what I wanted to do until I came across Precious Mammaries. I knew that I wanted to turn my breast milk into something and that is when I decided to get both a bubble necklace and a leaf crown ring made to commemorate my journey with Raiden.

I love the idea of always having my breastmilk close to my heart. I will always remember nursing my son and how much it meant to me as well as to him. I couldn’t have asked for better snuggles than the ones I would get while he nursed in my arms and in my lap.

Precious Mammaries takes a sample of my breastmilk and does her magic to turn it into a gorgeous stone. Her time and passion goes into making each individual piece of jewelry. You can see how much it matters to her thanks to the quality of her jewelry.

I’m so thankful for my necklace. It is a simple bubble jewel piece with Raiden’s initials on the back, but that doesn’t stop it from being extra special to me. I love how simple it is because I am not one for anything more than simple jewelry.

The fact that every piece is unique and custom made just makes it that much more special. In addition to all of this she also provides you with a nice little certificate to go with the jewelry.

review of breast milk jewelry from Precious MammariesIt’s more than just a piece of jewelry.

The necklace and ring that I got is so much more than just jewelry to me. Some people don’t understand why I wanted my breast milk turned to stone. It means so much more to me than any one could know.

While my nursing journey wasn’t as hard as some others journey’s it was a long and tiresome road for me. I nursed my son for 27 long months. I never planned to nurse that long and I never expected it to last past a year, but I didn’t feel right forcing my son to wean when he wasn’t ready.

I kept nursing him despite the fact that I was completely touched out. I’ll admit that I’m not a big cuddler and I can only stand so much touching before I just want to run away screaming. I know there were plenty of times when I snapped and lost my cool because I was all touched out. I still pushed on and gave my son everything he wanted and needed despite the fact that it ended up changing from being a task that I enjoyed to something I dreaded.

I got this jewelry as a way to remember the good times and the painstakingly trying times because I wouldn’t change it for anything. It helps me to remember that I can and will push my issues aside for my son. I can be strong for him even when I normally wouldn’t feel strong.

Valdler Antique Wooden Embossed Flower Pattern Jewelry Boxes Review

December 27, 2015 by Ashley Leave a Comment

I am a lover of little chests so I was really excited to be given the opportunity to review these Valdler Antique Wooden Embossed Flower Pattern Jewelry Boxes so when I got them in the mail. I have a headboard with shelves on it where I showcase all of my little chests and these two brought me up to 10 different chests. They are on the small side, but I knew that from the start. These were made quite well. They will hold up for holding my little trinkets. The smallest one is perfect if you are giving jewelry as a gift because it is just the right size to hold something beautiful in it. Honestly who wouldn’t want a really pretty chest as a gift and opening it would be even more special.

If you aren’t too sure what you would use these for I can tell you that I have a small collection of treasure chest boxes that rest on the headboard of my bed.  Each chest has a different variety of items in them.  I like to have everything organized and in its own place once I find it a home.  I am just lucky enough to have found a guy who likes chests like these as much as I do.

Dream Big with Inspired Silver Jewelry

November 29, 2015 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This product was provided to me free in exchange for my honest opinion.

Inspired Silver

I will admit that I do not buy jewelry for myself very often. I have had so many bad experiences with jewelry that claims to be sterling silver.  I am allergic to nickel and because of that I get some very bad allergic reactions to jewelry that is nickel plated.  When I heard from Inspired Silver I did a lot of research before I decided that I would indeed review the jewelry for myself and not for my significant other.  He loves reviewing items and loves his rings, but I was excited to see jewelry that I may actually be able to wear on a regular basis.

This meant that I needed to browse through their website and found quite the selection of beautiful jewelry.  It was really hard to make a decision on what I would like to get for myself.  In the end I chose a very simple silver ring for myself.  I am always reminding myself to dream so it seemed like the perfect ring for me would be one that said dream.  I also loved how the design was simple, sleek, and rather small.  If you knew me you would know that I am pretty self-conscious over my hands (just as much as I am with my feet).  Since I am so nervous about my hands I decided that a small ring would be the best for my long, thin fingers.

Inspired Silver – Dream Ring

When I got this ring in the mail I was so excited.  I instantly slipped it on knowing that I would be home that whole evening and I would be able to watch for any adverse reactions to the metal that the ring is made of.  I wore the ring for a good 6 hours that first night without any problems.  I was so excited that I had finally gotten a ring that I was not allergic to; this ring is exactly what I was hoping for.  It is indeed a small design and looks very nice on my thin fingers.  So many rings look big and bulky on them, but this one looks absolutely perfect.

In the end I was able to find the perfect ring for me and with their large selection of rings and jewelry you should be able to find something just as easy as I was.

Ladies’ Night Out – Part 2 – Reija Eden Jewelry Review

August 24, 2014 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This post is sponsored by Reija Eden Jewelry and Crossroads Media Hub.

In my previous post about Reija Eden Jewelry I talked about my ideal outfit for a Ladies’ Night Out and in this post I will be reviewing the surprise necklace that I was sent  by Reija Eden Jewelry to review.

love-necklace

They sent me this lovely silver love necklace to review.  I love the simplistic-ness of the necklace while it looks elegant at the same time.  This necklace is handcrafted in the US and is made out of Rhodium plated brass.  This is a good thing for me because that means that there is no nickle in the necklace and when it comes to silver jewelry I always have to be extra careful due to the fact that I am allergic to nickel.

The necklace comes packaged nicely in a sleek black gift box to make gifting and storing even easier when it is not being worn.  I was very pleased with the packaging for the necklace and know that this will be something that I will frequently wear.

The clasp on the necklace is one of your standard clasps.  It works well, though being someone who has dexterity issues I find it impossible to be able to work the clasp mechanism on my own and do have to ask for help from a friend to put the necklace on.  This is not something out of the ordinary in my life.
