Independence Day Or 4th Of July

July 4, 2013 by Ashley 2 Comments

TCBThe 4th of July, is it just another day on the calendar?  I keep seeing people say ‘Happy 4th of July’ and it makes me think.  Is that what this holiday has really come to?  It feels like everyone just sees today as being a day where you spend time with your family, cook out, and watch the firework show.  The question that I pose here today is this… Do you know the meaning behind Independence Day and why we as Americans celebrate it?

4th of july

Now, that you have been thinking about this question I want to leave you with a few more things to think about.  The first of which is that our fore fathers signed their death warrants when they signed the Declaration of Independence.   They stood up against their country and their leader and declared that they were free of the King’s reign.  It was not something that they took lightly and it shouldn’t be taken lightly today.

The historical documents that built this country needed to be remembered.  I am tired of people forgetting what it is that our country was built on.  Remember our Freedoms today.  Remember our Constitution.  Remember our Bill of Rights.  It is the foundation that this country was built on.  We need to get control of our freedoms again.  Stop giving them to other people and have them control our lives.

I want you to take a moment now and watch this YouTube video.  It made me sad to see the answers to this guys questions about what Independence Day is.  I would love your feedback at the end of this post.  I want to see what you all are thinking.

We were once a nation of Independent people. Who took pride in being self-sufficient.  If we do not return to that we are doomed to be slaves.  Remember what Independence Day is about. Those men that signed that document signed their death warrant.  It is time for We the People to sacrifice again to restore this once great Nation of independent free willed people.

Independence Day is tomorrow!

Independence Day is tomorrow and it just seemed appropriate that I show case my pride in America and my beliefs as a young woman who believes in our founding fathers and everything that they stood for!  Remember tomorrow is the day that we as a people gained independence from Britain.  It is a day for celebrations and to remember everything that build this country.  So, enjoy my pictures and think about what our country was founded on and try to think about if that is the country we are living in right now.  We need to get back to our roots!

Independence DayAs a child I know I did not think about what the “4th of July” really was and that is why I want to focus on it being a day of celebration, but that we also remember what we are celebrating and why it is such a big deal.independence day
