Chicken Salad Recipe Made With Leftovers

August 24, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Chicken Salad Recipe

If you saw my Chicken Salad Leftovers Wordless Wednesday post this week you will know that I had a ton of leftovers this week.  Last weekend we smoked two whole chickens and a 10 pound pork butt and for just our family that is a TON of meat.  We had about one whole chicken for leftovers and over half of the pork butt left.  That meant I needed to get creative and find some fun and interesting ways to use our leftovers, right?  Right!

If you also have some leftover, overripe Bananas you should check out my Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe while you are here.  It is a great desert bread for your children to devour!

Chicken Leftovers Easy Meal For Wordless Wednesday

August 21, 2013 by Ashley 1 Comment

This past weekend we had TONS of leftovers from cooking two whole chickens and a 10lbs pork butt for pulled pork.  This meant we needed to come up with ways to handle the left overs so with the four chicken wings I decided to make some chicken salad.  Recipe coming soon.  Hope you enjoy the pictures.  (And yes I was too excited.  I had to sample it before I took a picture of it and man was it yummy!)

Work And Sunsets- A Wordless Wednesday Post

July 17, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

This week as my last minute Wordless Wednesday post I thought I would share with you all a couple of pictures that I have taken in the past couple of weeks outside of my work.   I managed to snap two beautiful sunset pictures as I left work the last two Mondays leaving the office around 9PM EST.  The final picture is one ofthe building that I work in.  You can even see the windows to our office.  🙂  I hope you enjoy.

Things To Do On A Rainy Day- Wordless Wednesday

July 10, 2013 by Ashley 1 Comment

This weeks theme for the Wordless Wednesday is coming to you thanks to the Trash Can Bloggers and it is…

*drum roll please*

Things To Do On A Rainy Day!

rainy day

Idea #1: Play with your pets! They will always love the play time, attention, and love you give them.  With a house full of pets there is always one begging for attention.

rainy day

Idea #2: Music.  Spend some time listening to music or playing your favorite instrument.  If you don’t know how to play an instrument this is the best time to sit down to learn.

rainy day

Idea #3: Make a treat for the family.  We had bananas that were over ripe and that meant Banana Bread! Yum.  If you have a bread machine this is even better during the hot summer months because it prevents you from turning the oven on which heats up the house.

There are many other things that you could do on a rainy day.  These are just a few of my favorite things to do.  They also happen to be  a few things that we have been doing since there has been so much rain here in Michigan.  I have noticed that really the whole Midwest has been hit pretty hard with a lot of rain and storms.

What does your family do on rainy days?

Independence Day Wordless Wednesday

Equality

Independence Day is tomorrow!

Independence Day is tomorrow and it just seemed appropriate that I show case my pride in America and my beliefs as a young woman who believes in our founding fathers and everything that they stood for!  Remember tomorrow is the day that we as a people gained independence from Britain.  It is a day for celebrations and to remember everything that build this country.  So, enjoy my pictures and think about what our country was founded on and try to think about if that is the country we are living in right now.  We need to get back to our roots!

Independence DayAs a child I know I did not think about what the “4th of July” really was and that is why I want to focus on it being a day of celebration, but that we also remember what we are celebrating and why it is such a big deal.independence day
