New Music From Train: Bulletproof Picasso

September 16, 2014 by Ashley Leave a Comment

I participated in the Train Bulletproof Picasso album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided a free album to review but all opinions are my own.

I was thankful for the opportunity to review Train’s newest album Bulletproof Picasso because I have been such a huge fan of Train for so many years.  I will admit that I was not disappointed by this new album.  I have added it to my collection of music to be listened to in my car while on my long drives to and from Chicago to visit my family.

When I got the album in my email I sat down and listened to it fully through while doing a little bit of writing, but realized just how much I liked it and turned everything off so that I could completely listen to the music.  I love the way that all of the members of Train work together to create beautiful music that everyone can enjoy.

I have included below the lyric video for my favorite song off of their album.  I hope that you enjoy it just as much as I do.

Now I know you want to know all about the actual album and the band, including their current shows.  You can buy their album on iTunes and Amazon so don’t miss out!

Simple Pregnancy Advice for Optimum, Holistic Health

June 26, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

beautiful pregnant womanIt’s no doubt that you’ll get a multitude of advice during pregnancy. Many mothers or expectant mothers are very adamant about how you should take care of yourself during pregnancy. Read any mommy blog, and you’ll see that mommy advice is a hot topic — and one of great controversy. If you’re a first-time mother, the throngs of advice can be confusing, and the conflicting ideas can cause some anxiety as you prepare to be the best mother you can be. At its simplest, here are a few key ingredients to a healthy pregnancy.

Take Care of Yourself

Many women have reported that during pregnancy, they experienced a first-time phenomenon: the feeling you have when you eat when you’re hungry and sleep when you’re tired. With our fast-paced lives, it can be difficult to take care of ourselves with the love we deserve. When you’re pregnant, it’s important to set aside the achiever in you and rest when you’re tired and eat when you’re hungry. It’s as simple as that. Be sure to eat plenty of vegetables and take your vitamins. Check out www.naturesbest.co.uk for some great, high-quality vitamin options. Drink plenty of water, walk a little every day, and consult a medical professional for more advice on how to best take care of yourself.

Give Yourself Grace

When you’re incubating a child, you may not have the energy you once had. Don’t get down yourself. You’re doing the single most important task in life — giving another person life. Take this time to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally and figure out the type of mother you want to be apart from the voices of others. The only way you can do this is by spending some time in stillness, allowing yourself the space to dream and think. Give yourself that time.

Listen to People You Trust

It may sound too simple to mention, but listen most to the people you trust. With all the conflicting voices, it’s easy to let these tried and true voices fade into the background, but they are the ones that are the most important to consider. The people who love you want to see you succeed, and they know you better than anyone else. Ask for their advice, and take it to heart. If you know some great kids that you love being around, talk to their parents. Find a mentor. Build the relationships that will help support you long after your baby is born.

June 2, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

I Love L.A. Collector's BillsI love earning points on Swagbucks and I have their search engine set-up with my browser for this reason.  You might also want to know what kills my battery life on my cellphone… It’s Swagbucks videos because I can earn points while just letting videos auto-play while I am doing other things. Sometimes I have videos playing on both my computer and phone at the same time. My boyfriend always laughs at me when I do it, but its a way to get double the points! Lol.

Swagbucks has a new set of Collector’s Bills celebrating their hometown of Los Angeles! There are five bills, each depicting a different part of SoCal life, winnable through Search only! They’re available starting at 12:01am on Monday, June 3rd and if you can get all five before Tuesday, June 11th, you’ll get an automatic 10 Swag Buck Bonus! You can see which Bills you’ve won and which ones you still need by look at “Collector’s Bills” in the My Swag Bucks area of your account.

If you haven’t been searching and winning with Swagbucks you’re missing out! I’ve used Swagbucks rewards to get about $5 every month.  This might not be much, but it certainly adds up – sign up by clicking here!
