Amazing Mother’s Day 2013 Infographic

May 7, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Mother’s Day is around the corner and we need to focus on mom’s for a little while.  Did you know that most mom’s don’t want jewelry for Mother’s Day?  A poll was taken and only about 5% actually wanted jewelry.  Another 39% said that they want a day to themselves while 25% said they want to spend the day with their family and finally the last 12% said that they want a day without chores.  I think that giving mom’s these things means more to her than does giving her something physical.  It is the small things that matter in life.

I love the priceless things that they suggest on the infographic below to give mom for Mother’s Day.   Giving her a massage, clean the house, cook for her & her friends, and to make a tribute video for her.  All of the ideas are creative and won’t cost you anything but a little bit of time from your day.

My Favorite Memory From Childhood… Continued

May 2, 2013 by Ashley 1 Comment

childhood memory

I had been telling you all about my favorite childhood memory a couple of days ago and wanted to continue.  On top of everything that I have already said one of the things that I loved about going up north was all of the cook outs and fires.  We would have many during the week when we were staying in one of the cabins on the little resort that we would stay at.  We would sometimes camp as well which was so much fun.

memoryI loved staying in the cabins, and tents; as well as all of the fishing, and cooking over the camp fire.  Nothing is quite the same as being out in the wilderness with all of the wildlife and everything else.  There is just a special feeling that you get when you spend time with nature.  I can remember trekking through the woods with my dad and sister.  They would carry the canoe over the land from one lake to a small secluded one that you could not reach from any roads and we would fish alone with no other boats or people around.

Or the times when we would just explore, relax in the sun and read and draw.  There were so many different things that we did.  It was a time when we really spent a lot of family time together.  When we met people, made lasting friendships that we would see once a year.
