5 Fall Handbag Essentials With U by Kotex and Walmart

September 20, 2014 by Ashley 6 Comments

This post is sponsored by U by Kotex and Walmart, but my love for their pads and everyday low prices is all my own!

Handbag Essentials Pinterest

Fall is around the corner and I am already switching to my Fall themed handbag, while I do that I thought I would share with you all what my top 5 must haves are that I put in my handbags.  U by Kotex and Walmart have made setting up my handbag so much easier than it has ever been.

I don’t know if you are like me, but I love lists and I actually have a check list for my handbag.  I am always worried that I will forget something and when I am out and about I will regret it!  That is why I am going to share with you my personal fall handbag essentials checklist.

1.  U by Kotex tampons:  I make sure that I have a few tampons in my handbag even if I know that Aunt Flow won’t be visiting me for weeks because you never know what kind of emergencies might arise.  The other reason is because I like to be prepared and I have known friends to ask if anyone has a tampon.  I am one of those people that you can always ask and know that the answer will be a yes.  (Yes, I was a Girl Scout and live by the motto, “always be prepared.”)

2.  Kleenex Travel Tissues: Always having a pack of Kleenex tissues on hand is another must have.  I seem to always have issues with bloody noses, runny noses, or just sneezing up a storm to the point that I need tissues to keep control of the spit and snot that comes with the territory.  I was so excited when I did my shopping at Walmart and saw the Kleenex Slim Packs that came packaged as a Bonus with my U by Kotex tampons!

*Tip – Click here to get a free Kleenex coupon.

3.  Carmex Chapstick:  I cannot go anywhere without my chapstick.  You might find it odd (some people do for some reason), but I cannot go anywhere without it.  I cannot stand dry or chapped lips and as Fall settles in the cool air comes with it as well as the winds.  Those two things combined give me some terribly chapped lips if I am not careful!

4. Hair clips/Hair ties: My lovely long locks of hair need to be tamed occasionally and I like to come prepared by having a few hair ties and a hair clip on hand to pull those luscious locks up with and keep them from getting too wind blown!

5.  Hand Lotion:  Again with Fall being so crisp and cool you will want to keep your skin nice and soft with some hand lotion.  You can choose any type really.  I opt for unscented travel sized lotions because I have real sensitive skin and cannot use many scented lotions.

These 5 handbag essentials all can be purchased at your local Walmart.  If you use the U by Kotex and Kleenex coupons you will be able to make the cost that much lower though everything here can be purchased for under $20.  This coupon opportunity is a special one.  It is a Share and Save opportunity, where the more times you share it on Twitter, Pinterest, or Facebook, will result in a higher value coupon!  The offer includes three coupons for Kleenex ($0.50, $0.75, $1) and three for UbK ($0.75, $1, $1.50).  You can’t beat saving that much money on handbag essentials!

Do your handbag essentials vary from mine?

If so, what are your 5 Essentials?

Blog Promotion Through Social Media- What Your Options Are

September 13, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

As a blogger I know how important it is to put a focus on blog promotion through social media.  Today I want to share with you what I have found to be useful and what options are out there for you to use to promote your blog via social media channels.  The two main forms of social media that a majority of bloggers use on a daily basis include: Facebook and Twitter.

Facebook

According to this infographic from BlogSkinny approximately 87% of professional bloggers use Facebook as a social media tool.  From everything that I have ready the bloggers that are more likely to stay away from Facebook include adult oriented bloggers and companies because Facebook has some pretty strict rules when it comes to nudity and non-family friendly content.

Facebook is a great source because so many people use it on a daily basis.  The downfall is figuring out Facebook’s algorithm for who sees your posts and page on their timeline.  With the more recent updates I have still been trying to master this and will update you when I come up with some great tips for you.

Twitter

Twitter’s statistics are very similar with around 88% of professional bloggers using Twitter to promote their work.  When I first started blogging I had never used Twitter and I made an account, but never used it.  It wasn’t until over a year into blogging that I learned the power behind Twitter.

It is easy to get people seeing your posts and content because of the use of #hashtags.  I love to search for trending hashtags and find content old or new that fits with them and use them to promote my material and draw in many more readers and followers that way.

Keep watching the blog for more updates on the topic because I will be covering the use of Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and StumbleUpon.

3 Ways To Improve Your Blog Posts With InLinkz Linky Tools

July 22, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

inlinkz logoEveryone who makes blogging  their business is always looking for ways to improve them and get higher page-views on their posts.  I am here today to explain to you how InLinkz Linky Tools can do that for your blog.  I currently use inlinkz on here for my Low Entry Giveaway Linky.

1.  Organize your DIY Projects, Recipes, and Content Series into a Linky to create an easy way for your followers to find all relevant content in one place.  You can add the Linky code to the end of each said post and continue to add content to them as you write new content.

2.  Create daily link-ups for bloggers to link-up their blog posts on.  For instance, Menu Mondays, Terrific Tuesdays, Wordless Wednesday, Timeless Thursdays, and FANtastic Fridays.  The ideas are endless and you can create reoccurring Linky codes every week so you don’t have to fill out all the information each time.  You just grab the new code when you write the new post.

3.  Giveaway Hops are another great use for Linky codes because you can create a way for themed giveaways to all be linked up so that fans and followers can easily hop from one to the next without having to search for them.

Inlinkz offers both a free option as well as a newer paid subscription option.  Today I want to show you some of what you get with both options.  With a free account you can create many linky codes for various projects on your blogs, business pages and so much more online.  You are however limited to only one linky code with images on the free account.  For me this isn’t enough.  I prefer being able to see the images of what is being linked up on the linky form.

Old Inlinkz Widget

inlinkz picture linky tool
Inlinkz widget used to only look like this if you were using the Linky Tool with images.  You are able to customize this with how many columns the widget is so that you can make it fit well in the provided space on your blog.

New Inlinkz Dynamic Widget

Inlinkz has come out with a new dynamic widget that has a similar look to it like the Pinterest layout and also uses pages if you have enough links on it (which I do not right now.)

Text Based Linky Widget

Text Based Linky Widget
Inlinkz Text Based Widget is pretty straight-forward. You can select how many columns you want it just like the image widget. This one is only one column.

**Above linky image was provided by fellow blogger, Still Blonde After All These Years.

With this free account you can have unlimited text based Linky Tools and one image based widget which means you will want to choose wisely on which one you will be using as the image linky.  The other option you have is to spend $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year to buy the Extended Inlinkz subscription which gives you a few other features on top of being able to have an unlimited amount of image linkies with your account.

With the subscription you can also allow people to vote on links on the linky by creating a challenge of sorts.  It is a different way for you to hold a giveaway on your blog.  One great example of how you would do this would be to giveaway a small gift card or something for bloggers linking up their relevant DIY projects, recipes, etc on the giveaway and get your blog some extra attention.
