Explore San Diego Without Spending a Dime

June 25, 2015 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Many West Coast cities are notorious for the high price tags that are attached to their amenities. San Diego is no exception. From airfare to finding affordable San Diego hotels, budget-conscious travelers may feel they have their work cut out for them. Fortunately, finding low cost entertainment is the city is relatively easy. The following venues will appeal to travelers of all ages while being easy on their wallets.

A Day on the Beach

The San Diego area has many public beaches, where visitors can swim, surf, build sandcastles, and simply relax by the water. The city boasts 70 miles of pristine beaches and has warm weather all year. Pacific Beach, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, and Oceanside are just a few examples.

Seaport Village

Located in the downtown area, Seaport Village offers hours of free entertainment. Visitors can peruse shops, go for a leisurely walk, or relax and watch ships and yachts cruise on San Diego Bay.

Gaslamp Quarter

People who are interested in architecture are likely to appreciate the 16.5 blocks of historic buildings in the Gaslamp Quarter, located in downtown. The streets are lined with Victorian buildings, some of which house shops, art galleries, and specialty shops.

Old Town

A wonderland for history buffs, Old Town invites visitors to wander through historic buildings and experience the city of San Diego from days past. A blacksmith shop, Stewart House, Seely Stables, Estudillo House, and a schoolhouse are all leftover from the city’s beginnings.

Balboa Park

Another site for architecture lovers, Balboa Park features Spanish Colonial Revival-style buildings. Free tours are available daily, and there are also public organ concerts on Sundays. The site also includes several gardens, which are always free and open to the public. Within the park, there are 15 museums; certain museums offer complimentary admission to San Diego residents on Tuesdays.

You can get FREE US shipping on orders $50+ which you have too admit is pretty awesome.
