My PetBox Review

My dogs were instantly at my side when I opened up my PetBox.  They have that intuition knowing that something is for them.  Both of their noses were near it sniffing to see what they got.  When I opened the first thing I noticed was the toy.  We had run out of toys for them to play with since they had destroyed them all.

The Duck and AbigailI pulled out the Aussie Naturals Duck Toy and looked it over.  The canvas material was nice and sturdy and the ropes felt pretty strong in comparison with other ropes on the market.  It only took seconds to get both dogs interested in the toy.  I was hoping it would last awhile with them playing tug of war with us and with each other.  We continued going through the box spoiling the dogs letting them sample the treats and let them try the vitamins as well.  The treats were a huge hit which really wasn’t a surprise since we have two food hounds in the house.  They even ate the vitamins without a second thought which is really saying something!

The only thing we haven’t tried out is the calming spray though when spraying it in the air it does have a very pleasant scent to it.  All in all the PetBox was a huge hit in our house.  Even the packaging was sturdy since many of our packages get here all banged up, but that’s ok with this one because the box stood up to its beating with a couple of dents in the side and the contents completely untouched.

Dogs: For the Tough Chewers

Do you have a tough chewer in your home? I know we do! Our 6 year old lab, Kratos just loves to chew!  He is a good boy and only chews his toys.  This wasn’t always the case when he was a pup he loved chewing on cords and wires.  We went through a bunch of Guitar Hero controllers for the first and second game on the PlayStation 2.

Over all these years we never found a good toy or treat for our dog.  He loves ropes and we used to buy two to three extra large ropes for our little monster.  I was tired of paying all that money when he would just tear them apart.

As far as treats go we have found as a tough cheese raw hide bones only last moments and after some research I found out that they aren’t very good for dogs!  So instead we have been giving him all natural pigs ears for the past few years and he loves them!

He will play with and eat his pigs ears.  They last longer than a raw hide bone and he seems to have more fun with it.

In my attempt to find and try something new I recently decided to buy a deer antler for my pup.  This was classified as a treat however I think its just as much a toy!  He has had this antler for over a month now and he has barely don’t anything to it!

Now, when you ask him where his rope is he will run around and actually bring you his antler.  He loves playing with it! Slamming his front paws down on it and tossing it in the air.  I think we have found the best thing for our tough chewer!

If you have a tough chewer for a dog I highly suggest buying them a deer antler because its the best thing I have found!  Have you found anything else that works for your tough chewer?

Catsby Spotlight Review: Neko Flies Cat Toys

neko flies cat toysI was so excited to have the chance to review Neko Flies because these looked so cute and I knew my cats would love them.  Or well I knew one of my cats would love them!

This toy is a wand that has a string and toy attached to it.  They sell a few different ones.  I was given the Kragonfly, and the Small Kittenator.  They do also have the Kittycada, Katarantula, and the Large Kittenator.

My black cat, Deimos was intrigued but he barely played with it.  He is very premeditated with his actions so he wouldn’t chase it.  Gonzo was the opposite, he instantly went for the toy.  We put the Kragonfly on first and he liked that, but his reaction to the Small Kittenator.  We didn’t get the chance to stoop him from jumping high in the air trying to run off with the toy before we could play with it correctly.

I knew he had a thing or mice because he plays with stuffed mice all the time, but this reaction was shocking.  He loves it and will chase it as we play for hours if we let them.  We also made sure to lock the toy away when not in use because our cats would destroy it if we did not.  We learned this long ago with a cheaper similar styled toy that we bought.  That toy broke real fast and it wasn’t the wand but the string that snapped.  This string is much more durable than that was and I can tell this will hold up a lot better than that did.

I highly recommend this as a great way to interact with your cats and get them to be active!
