Finding Quick Healthy Recipes For The Whole Family

November 1, 2013 by Ashley Leave a Comment

Finding quick healthy recipes for the whole family isn’t the easiest thing to do.  More and more families are looking for resources to help feed their families without taking too much time because honestly there isn’t enough time in the day.  Between work, housework, and taking care of the family there is little time left outside of all of that plus sleep.

I don’t have the busiest of families, but keeping up with work, housework, and blogging on three websites can take up a lot of time.  In addition to that cooking for long periods of time takes a lot out of me because it is so much time on my feet.  I always feel a huge difference in how much foot and back pain I have after cooking a long arduous meal.  That is why I always try to search out those quick healthy recipes.

The Healthy Eating Pyramid (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Quick healthy recipes generally have a good balance of vegetables, grains, and proteins in them to help aid in the speed of making them as well as making sure that you are getting a well balanced meal.  I know that I try to have greens in a minimum of one meal a day though I do attempt to have them in two meals a day because they have such high levels of vitamins and minerals that you should be getting in your diet.

I know I have found some great chicken recipes. Be on the watch because I will be spotlighting some here soon.  You will be excited to hear all about how I got 40 pounds of chicken breasts for a quarter of the price.

Healthy Cooking Tips

One of my goals this year has been to work on healthy cooking in my home and ever since moving back in February things have been changing slowly.  I have wanted to eat healthier and cook healthier and increase the different recipes that I know and can cook.  So, if you read about my move then you already know that I am now living with my boyfriend, his dad and our pets as well as his dog.  Because of his dad being here I am learning to cook more and am learning little tips and treasures that I will be remembering to help me when it comes to cooking and baking. I hope that this little picture will help you out as well. Because I put together a short list of items that can be substituted in many recipes for other things that are healthier. I am hoping to make more images like this with additional cooking tips as time goes on and I come up with more for you to enjoy.
